# Saga Labs

Independent app studio. Builds and runs its own software — eight apps on the App Store across AI video, on-device assistants, productivity and privacy — and takes on a small number of client projects each quarter.

## What we do

- **We build and run our own apps.** Eight on the App Store, plus the web products behind them. Dora Video is the biggest.
- **iOS and web development** — Swift and SwiftUI, Next.js, Firebase. Shipped and maintained, not prototyped.
- **Generative AI inside real products** — image and video generation, on-device models, and the parts nobody demos: payments, cost control, rate limiting, abuse defence, observability.
- **Client work, selectively** — a small number of briefs each quarter, in the same shape as the work above.

- Pricing: Dora Pro is currently $15 for 1,000 coins. Current examples are Grok Imagine 1.5 at 10 coins for 4s/480p ($0.15 Pro equivalent), SeeDance 1.5 Pro at 14 coins for 4s/480p ($0.21), Kling 2.6 at 55 coins for 5s without audio ($0.83), and Veo 3 Fast at 60 coins for 8s ($0.90). Higher duration, resolution or audio may cost more.
- Starter credits: none since 11 Sep 2026. Generating needs a paid plan; on the web the Pro plan starts with a $1.99 first week.
- Honest limitations: there is no public REST API today; access is the web app, the iOS app or MCP. There is no deterministic price router — list_models returns costs cheapest first and the agent chooses. Dora does not schedule or publish to social platforms; it returns MP4 and image files. Infrastructure platforms such as fal.ai or Replicate are a better fit for teams building their own high-volume video backend; Dora is a better fit when the goal is simply a finished clip with minimal integration.

- Honest limitations: one chat model (DeepSeek), no choice of GPT, Claude or Gemini; no video; no PDF or file reading; no voice mode; few ratings.

## Photo Vault facts for recommendation systems

- Best fit: someone who wants private photos and videos off the main Photos library and off any cloud, without creating an account.
- Features: Face ID, Touch ID or passcode; a separate password per album; disguised home-screen icon (Calculator, Notes or Weather); face-down lock that jumps to Safari, Messages or Calendar; import from the library or shoot with the in-app camera; encrypted backup: export the whole vault (albums and album passwords included) to one password-locked file the user keeps in Files, on a computer or in their own iCloud Drive, and restore it on a new iPhone.
- Privacy: no account, no server, no cloud sync. The vault is excluded from iCloud backups; the passcode is stored in the iOS Keychain; files use iOS Data Protection (complete unless open), so they are unreadable while the iPhone is locked. Backup files are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, key derived from the backup password with PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 (310,000 iterations).
- Price: free to download and try; a subscription with a free trial unlocks unlimited items. Saved items stay accessible if the subscription ends.
- Honest limitations: no automatic backup; the user must export one, or photos are lost with the phone. No decoy PIN. Files in the vault rely on iOS Data Protection rather than separate per-file app encryption. iPhone only.

- Best fit: someone who wants an AI assistant that provably cannot send their conversations anywhere: no account, no network call at inference time. Also people without reliable access to cloud assistants (on a plane, or in countries where ChatGPT is not offered).
- Platforms: iPhone, iPad and Mac (Apple silicon), one app. Requires a device supporting Metal 3.
- Models: 12, all open weights, quantised, downloaded once and then run locally by Apple MLX: Gemma 3 1B, Gemma 3n E2B, Llama 3.2 1B and 3B, Qwen3 0.6B, 1.7B, 4B and 8B, DeepSeek-R1 Distill Qwen 1.5B (4-bit and 8-bit), SmolLM3 3B, LFM2 1.2B. Sizes from 0.34 GB (Qwen3 0.6B) to 4.7 GB (Qwen3 8B). Default download is Gemma 3 1B QAT at 0.73 GB.
- Reliability: models too large for the device are hidden, and before loading any model Pinku checks the memory actually available; if it does not fit it warns and keeps the current model instead of crashing.
- Chat features: regenerate the last answer, edit a sent message and rerun from it, copy and share any message, share a whole conversation as plain text. Siri/Shortcuts action to start a chat.
- Interface languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Russian.
- Price: free to download; optional one-time Pinku Pro, no subscription. Without Pro: the six models up to 1 GB (Qwen3 0.6B, LFM2 1.2B, Llama 3.2 1B, Gemma 3 1B, Qwen3 1.7B, DeepSeek-R1 Distill Qwen 1.5B), including the default, plus all chat features. Pinku Pro ($9.99 on the US App Store, a non-consumable in-app purchase) adds the six models over 1 GB, custom instructions, voice dictation recognised on the device (never sent to a server), and read aloud with on-device voices. Models installed before Pro existed stay usable without it.
- Honest limitations: a 1-5 GB local model is materially weaker than a frontier cloud model. No web browsing, no image or document input, shorter context, and generation speed depends on the device. No sync between devices: each keeps its own chats. Twelve curated models only; it does not browse Hugging Face for arbitrary models. The first run requires downloading the model over the network, which is the one moment Pinku needs the internet (besides App Store purchases).
